Makoto is interesting. It is regarded as the best Japanese place in the DC area. Ambiance: It feels small and cramped (like I imagine Japan to be). If you're a big guy (which I am not), I would hesitate to go. You are seated on little wooden boxes that are uncomfortable. I had the omakase menu, my buddy ordered a la carte. The food was really good but don't bring a BIG appetite unless you want to spend $150+. Overall, I recommend the place but don't come hungry.
